Nearly 90% of a child's brain development occurs before the age of five.

United Ways across the region and KATC-TV3 are partnering to help make more books available to children in early care and education centers. Data shows that when children get exposed to books and reading from birth to age 5, they have a greater chance for success.

Help change the odds during the first annual Books To Grow By book drive April 25 - May 6.

Join us! There are many ways for anyone to get involved. Together, we can put age-appropriate books in the hands of children, helping to foster of love of literacy early on.

Donate gently-used or new books. Book title examples include:
