Acadiana’s Louisiana Prisoner Reentry Initiative (LA-PRI) is a specific program within the larger scope of prisoner reentry initiatives in Louisiana. It focuses on helping individuals who are released back into the Acadiana area to successfully reintegrate into society by addressing their employment needs, promoting long-term stability, and improving overall well-being.
LA-REC and Steering Team Committee
The United Way of Acadiana’s Louisiana Prisoner Reentry Initiative recognizes the importance of collaboration and partnerships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, employers, and volunteers. By working together, they can provide comprehensive support and resources to individuals reentering society, fostering a positive environment for successful reintegration and community well-being. In result, the Lafayette Reentry Coalition (LA-REC) and the Steering Team Committee.

The Lafayette District Reentry Coalition in 15th JDC, serves Lafayette, Acadia, and Vermilion parishes, uniting community partners, social services, and members to support successful reintegration of individuals into society after incarceration. Its purpose is to provide resources, guidance, and support to facilitate a smooth transition, reduce recidivism, and promote community safety and wellnes

New Leaf Reentry Mentorship Program
At the New Leaf Reentry Mentorship Program, we are dedicated to supporting the transformation and successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals. We believe in the power of mentorship to foster growth, resilience, and positive change. Our program pairs mentees with passionate and dedicated volunteers who are committed to making a difference in their lives.
We are currently seeking male and female volunteers who share our vision and have a heart for working with the formerly incarcerated population. If you are passionate about providing guidance, support, and encouragement to those on the path to a new beginning, we invite you to join our mentorship team.
