We are thrilled to announce a transformative partnership between United Way of Acadiana and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana in our collective pursuit of community enrichment through education. At the heart of this collaboration is the revitalization of the acclaimed United Way Readers initiative, which will be administered by the dedicated team at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Volunteers, the backbone of our community engagement, will embark on a rewarding journey with United Way Readers, fostering a love for literacy and learning among the youth we serve!
Designed to empower young minds, aged six to young adulthood, from socioeconomically disadvantaged households. United Way Readers in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs them with caring adult role models. United Way of Acadiana is proud to be at the forefront of this endeavor, offering vital support to create meaningful, one-on-one mentorship relationships that transcend societal barriers.
